This is one of the last steps in the foreclosure process; there was a sale date, it was postponed.

Example - Mr and Mrs C had a sale date on their home due to not paying their mortgage for over a year. Last June they received a sales notice.

They contacted there lender and found out their information they had sent previously was lost and they needed to overnight their documents to the lender. The sales date was adjourned by the lender. In September received another sales date notice, because the information on their documents was listed incorrectly. A second time the sales date was adjourned by the lender. In February this year, had a knock on the door and it was the sheriff serving an eviction notice.

The above story really happened; where they thought they would receive a notice prior to another sale date. They were wrong.

Once you have been served and for whatever reason the sale date is adjoined. The lender has not obligation to notify you of another sale date.

It is the Borrower who owes the Lender, not the Lender who owes the Borrower....
