I am interviewing for a bank teller job. I am about to foreclose on a house. How will that effect me? Can they tell me no? All my other bills are all current and on time. Current score is about 70- 750. After foreclosure it will be A lot lower.

Why would it matter? I've never heard of them running a credit report for a job like that, but maybe times have changed.

I assume you have tried to work it out with recapitalization and other things?

They run credit reports on all bank jobs.

Most corporations are running credit reports on all applicants, now.

Assuming you had or have an appointment for an interview, I would be upfront about the situation and the associated details.

Really, you think I should tell them during the interview? How do I bring it up?

I do think your chances of getting a job at a financial institution could be hurt by a foreclosure.

Have you filled out an paperwork yet? You could make a note on the application if it asks these types of questions. You would also have to sign a paper authorizing them to do a credit check if it goes that far.

On the interview, they will usually ask you if you have any questions. This would be your opportunity to tell them you are really interested in the position but want to be upfront about your upcoming foreclosure.

Thank you. I read the article and understand that the employer is not allowed to use Foreclosure as a discrimination tool. But they can still deny me a job using other reasons as long as they don't bring up the word foreclosure.
