Hello,
We received a Seller's Approval on a short sale on April 11th. It was then sent to a short sale negotiator and then forwarded onto the bank. This was the last piece of information we have received. Our agent has been trying to get weekly updates from the seller's agent, but the seller's agent has been ignoring our Realtor's emails and phone calls. We are just wanting to see where we are at in this short sale process, to see if a BPO has been done, etc. The bank we are dealing with is Wells Fargo.

But just wondering why a listing agent would ignore our agent's request for an update? We were the only contract sent to the bank.

Thanks!

You agent could try contacting the listing agent's managing broker. It may be that there is no significant update to report, but you should at least get that much feedback.

I'm sorry to say your post gave me a quick giggle. I'm sure the listing agent is trying to keep in the loop with the bank. I've been told by a short sale bank rep, not to call except for critical information because she had 150 properties to manage. My GMAC asset manager has over 300!

We certainly understand how swamped the banks must be with all of the short sales! We are just wondering why the listing agent would ignore our agent's request for a simple update. Even, "nothing new" would suffice, and the feeling of being ignored is not reassuring, as buyers who are waiting out this process

I'm in the same boat. My suggestion to you is to get used to it. I was upset when they ignored my agent in the beginning but after 2-3 weeks, I learned to tell myself that there was nothing new if they ignored me. There's really nothing else you can do. I can terminate the contract now but I haven't found anything else that I like as much as that short sale house yet. As soon as I find something else, I'm surely gonna terminate the contract on the short sale house.

And no doubt the listing agent is not hearing back from the bank....and on and on it goes.
