Well, I just moved here from Alaska and I am pretty lonely without any friends or family. I'm young and I like to have fun, where do I go?! I don't think I've been very far yet, but is there a specific neighborhood?

I'm from Alaska and most people drink or smoke weed all the time. I am just not sure what this place has to offer yet, any ideas?

What do you do during the day?, do you have a job?, what about your co-workers, maybe would start there - what interests and hobbies do you have - ? - that might be another avenue - sometimes volunteering opens doors esp. if you have a lot of time on your hands which it sounds like, helping others is always good anyway and it can lead to friendships - have you checked out meetup.com - lots of ppl meet others w/ common interests. I dont think you really can generalize about any place, there's ppl who smoke weed and drink all over, it's up to you to 'weed' them out (pardon the pun <G>).

i would recommend searching through the local meetups and see if you can find any groups that look interesting. Find Meetup groups near you - Meetup
