I am exploring job opportunities in Ft.Collins and Denver and absolutely loved Ft.Collins when I visited this winter. I am very active and love the access to outdoor activities. The only hesitation would be that I am single, mid 30's and worry that it would be more difficult to meet other single people vs. the Denver area. Thank you for any input/thoughts you may have on this and how you like living in Ft. Collins as well! It also sounds like a great place to raise a family. Thank you

Fort Collins has several Meetup groups. Perhaps you could compare the similar groups between Fort Collins and Denver and get a sense of where more events are taking place that fit with your interest.

Both Denver and Fort Collins have a lot of weekend events that take place all summer. Events like TED talks and Ignite Fort Collins are a good way to meet people. I don't know if Denver has anything like that. And of course, there are a lot of outdoor groups that go hiking, etc. together. But I would guess that Denver has that as well.

lol! GSXRScott, I suspect you misread "active" as "attractive."

You are correct. I take it all back. That being said would you like to meet for an Italian Soda?

Hi, and welcome to Fort Collins, should you choose to relocate here!

I agree with the others that there are lots of Meetup Groups and a plethora of other social gatherings, groups and get togethers. FoCo is a very vibrant community and it suits singles very well. There are plenty of opportunities to meet other folks around here with common interests as well as most people are friendly and warm.

The groups are probably great, I have yet to become involved with them, but I have heard good things. If you come by, stop at the Library or Chamber of Commerce/Visitor's Center and pick up a publication called The Recreator. It thoroughly lists much of the social activities in town including ones to sign up for and get involed with. The Scene, is another free publication. However, it is geared more towards music and the arts with and accent on the Bar Scene.

Depending on what and/or who you're looking for there are many opportunities I think. Denver, may be totally different, I just don't know. As far as outdoors activities this is certainly the place! May to October is great...if you enjoy winter sports as well those are within reach too. The outdoor opportunites are plenty in town and all around.

Or click here: Fort Collins Recreator

If you are into cycling, there are tons of options here. Overland Mountain Bike Club, Team BOB - Babes on Bikes, shop rides, NOCO Mountain bikers, Velo-one, etc, as well as smaller groups that you eventually run into.
Outdoor rock climbing and bouldering are popular and you can probably connect with a belay partner or two at Inner Strength Rock Gym.
Adult softball leagues seem to be pretty popular, as well.
Meetup is a great place to start.

Good luck!
Mike Weber
