We will be spending this weekend in Loveland/Windsor, and would like to make dinner plans for Saturday. We can drive to anywhere in Ft. Collins or surrounding areas for dinner. I want this to be something special, as my younger son turns 9! He is pretty adventurous with food, but quality Italian food will probably be the safest option. We also have an almost 15-year old, and that one will eat anything, if you know what I mean (ever had teenagers?)
Any recommendations for a good place? Asian food is fine, too. Would go for traditional American type place, especially, if they have good fish (seems like a rarity here, but worth asking).

For Italian I would say Carrabas in Ft Collins or Biaggis in Centerra (Loveland). Rodizio Grill is also good, great personal interaction for the kids, it is also in FT Collins..

If you want something good, that is all American with about everything you can imagine on the menu, I would go to Sanford's Pub in Ft Collins.. It is a fun place with tons of great memorabilia on the walls, etc.

Jay's Bistro is good, they have a vast variety of menu items.. It is also in FT Collins..

If you like BBQ, go to Nordy's out in Loveland or in Downtown Ft Collins..
For a great build your own burger, try STUFT in downtown Ft Collins or Windsor.

Those are our favorites and what we usually visit frequently and take friends and family to.

You might consider Enzios in Old town, I like them. There are quite a few places in old town that aren't chains. A lot of people like Bisseties(sp) for Italian.

Canino's in Fort Collins has been our go-to for Italian for a lot of years.

I was in the area a few weeks ago and went to Biaggis. The food and the service were both fantastic.
