Hey everyone! I know there are several posts on here regarding short term and rental housing, but I'm starting to get a little concerned about finding one for my family. My husband and I are a professional couple with 2 small children moving to the Fort Collins/Windsor/Greeley area. Before anyone gets too excited.....don't worry, we have jobs out there already. We are moving from Tennessee in mid-May and have been researching rental homes. We have our home here in TN on the market, but the market where we currently live is pretty bad. Unfortunately, I don't know that we will be able to sell it before we make our move. So, we are looking for a home to rent for approximately 1 year....preferably in the Windsor area, but we would also be open to the Fort Collins and Greeley area. My children have 2 dogs (1 small and 1 medium) and a cat. We are finding that about 75% of the places for rent are not pet friendly. I guess this kind of surprised me, but this is our first time to rent a home. I am really starting to get worried about finding somewhere for us to live......anyone have suggestions??

You're more likely to find "pet friendly" rental houses in the Greeley area than Windsor.

You might want to look into some of the "equine" properties, which are zoned and equipped to have horses and more receptive to having small pets around, too.

Thanks.....I hadn't considered horse properties, but I think that may be a great idea! We would love some acreage, so you just may be onto something.

Default Same situation!

My husband and I are in the same situation. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats and need a place that has a yard that is affordable. We are looking for people to share a house with because it ight be cheaper, but we dont have kids. Just big dogs!

I hear ya! We have owned homes for the past 11 years, so this has never been an issue before. We are really looking forward to buying a home after we get settled in, however, we have to sell our current home first! I wish it the market was like it was a few years back when I wouldn't have thought twice about buying a 2nd home while I waited for this one to sell. I am taking the advice I was given here and trying to look at properties with some land. If anyone knows of anything, please share with me!! We are planning our move around mid-May.
