Hi Everyone,

finally trying to finish decorating my living room in Fort Lauderdale but am
undecided what stores to use.

Have heard terrible things about rooms-to-go and i have also looked into
city furniture. I realize their goods are not that expensive but I do not
things falling apart on me in less than a year of use.

Only two adults living in the condo no dogs or children. But having said that my boyfriend is 6'2 and 205 pounds so hes no lightweight.

would like clean lines nothing too traditional and heavy.
any advice would be appreciated.
thank you

Throw away quality furniture. You get what you pay for and leave it behind when you move. Certainly will not be passed down to the children or become heirloom,

No, it's not heirloom peices, but no furniture store short of a antique store is heirloom quality.

I have a couch I got from them from the outlet part of the Tamarac store. Bought it in 2006 and it's still in great shape. So they last for some time with care

It is all brand name stuff, albeit lower level brands. The quality is a step up from Rooms to Go and the styles are up to date, but it's five-year furniture at best. You might want to check out American Signature Furniture, I have found their quality-to-value ratio to be very good.

I don't think they are much better than Rooms-to-Go. I would look in Haverty's or American Signature.

Haverty's is expensive and not that great quality either..When we moved to our new place here I had my other couches shipped to my sister in NY she said it isn't wearing too well...If it a piece of furniture and its in a high traffic area of your house it won't last either....jmho

Having bought furniture at City Furniture (Federal Highway) about a year ago, I am positive about the store and its merchandise. The furniture is stylish and good quality for the price, which is at the lower end of the scale. If you do not want to pay a lot for furniture, City is very acceptable in my opinion.

One of my coworkers bought some and called it Sh_tty Furniture...

You can probably find better quality furniture for the price, used on Craigslist.

Furniture shopping is depressing, because most of the stuff is just so throwaway quality, and overpriced. Even Ethan Allen's stuff is not great quality anymore.
