Dania Beach is just south of Fort Lauderdale and just north of Hollywood and right next door to the FLL airport. It has easy access to I-95 as well as the turnpike and other major roads in South Florida.

What kind of information are you looking for?

I work in Dania Beach - I believe it is the first city built in Broward County - it is certainly one of the ugliest! I find nothing appealing about it. It is really very sad because I think it could be a quaint little town/city but it isn't well kept at all. At least not the area that I work in. To me it is just an eye sore.

My take on Dania Beach:

It is a depressed section of town wedged between the FLL airport and Hollywood stretching east-west from Florida's Turnpike to the beach. The area between I-95 and US1 is very seedy and I would not recommend buying a home or living there. East of US1 and on the beach has some nice parts along Sheridan Street and Dania Beach Blvd. The Sheridan Ocean Club communities are pretty nice. West of I-95 out towards the Turnpike along Sheridan Street, Stirling Road, and Griffin Road is a decent area that is mainly working-class, with some trailer home parks mixed in. There is a large Orthodox Jewish population in those parts.

Dania overall is a good location for commuting to Ft. Lauderdale, Hollywood, or Miami for work. And the rents are cheaper than most areas. You have easy access to I-95 and the beach. Dania Beach along US1 does have an old-Florida feel that you don't find very many other places. But the area is littered with bums walking up and down the streets. The traffic isn't bad at all compared to Hollywood or other parts of Broward.

Although run down, some day I could see Dania Beach being revitalized similar to what they're doing now with Hollywood. But I wouldn't hold my breath. That could take many many years.

The area west of Dixie Highway between Sheridan & Stirling and certain small portions north of Stirling to Griffin are Hollywood, not Dania. This is also where the concentrated Jewish population is as well - west of 95 between Sheridan & Stirling and certain small portions north of Stirling.

Ok. I just am telling what I know when I get off of I-95 at Sheridan Street. The neighborhood is very run-down between I-95 and US1. It is a short stretch, maybe only a mile. But there is nothing appealing about that area. The areas west of I-95 seem to be more middle-class, and that's where the Orthodox Jews seem to be. But I guess that's considered Hollywood.

I believe Griffin Road between I-95 and 441 is considered Dania Beach too. There is a sign along Griffin as you're heading east from 441 that says "Dania Beach City Limit" from what I recall.

Nothing is wrong with Orthodox Jews. It's a positive, especially for property values and as an indication of safety - kind of like gay areas. Btw, I'm Jewish too, also not Orthodox.

I kind have always considered Dania Beach to be east of US1 and Dania west, but that may be just me.

Dania and Dania Beach are the same place.

Dania changed its name to Dania Beach a few years ago (so did Hallandale>Hallandale Beach) -- to make them sound more tropical, I guess....
