Yes, I know there is no real fall here but, I was wondering if there is anything like apple picking and/or pumpkin picking here for the kids to do. You know with hay rides and the little crappy haunted houses for them.

I used to do those things with my boys in NY and wonder what is like that here. I have to admit I am missing cleaning up the yellow and orange leaves and watching them jump into them.

Do kids here go trick or treating? My kids weren't really old enough to go trick or treating by themselves but I don't know that I would let them anyway. Do they do Halloween Parties or something like that for them? Is it a dangerous time? Do kids get beat up or things like that?

Apples do not grow here. They need a period of chilling that will never happen here. You can get pumpkins in the stores.

There are hayrides and haunted houses.

Kids go trick or treating. Younger ones are escorted by parents. Older ones just collect candy (I make mine dress up-they can't just go beg the neighbors for candy). Some people do have parties, especially the middle/high school kids. Local vendors have trick or treating activities in their stores. Publix, Sawgrass will have activities. Halloween is pretty big down here. We usually sit outside to greet our trick or treaters.

My kids have never had problems on Halloween in Weston. This will be our first year in Plantation. I don't anticipate problems.

So you did move - Yay for you - I'm glad you got the house you wanted! I really like Weston, but I took a new job in Miami and am not sure what that will do for my commute - from Cooper City it is pretty good - it is just so damn bland there - all the same it is nice and you can find some really beautiful homes there!

Hey honey - long time no speak - I know - I really miss the fall smell in the air. I miss being able to put a turtleneck on and not feel like I would die. Boooooooooo! But i don't miss the anticipation of the cold - that I really don't miss at all.

I am not a Cooper City fan. There's nothing bad about it, it just never really excited me. We have some friends that live in Embassy Lakes. It's ok. We have other friends that live in Country Glen. I really like the houses there.

Chels - there is a church on Griffin west of 595 that has a patch - also Flamingo Gardens is a cute place to pick pumpkins. I would not let my kids trick or treat alone - the rest just involves looking at things going on in the community.

Not a fan of Embassy Lakes huh. I found that place to look the most like Weston out of all the places I have been in Broward. I really like Embassy Lakes and would prefer living there but, I hate moving and will not be doing unless I'm going to my own home or to Miami. I fell like you Momma about Cooper City - isn't bad at all must I don't know - not a big deal to live there you know what I mean.

I'm sure once the boys make friends we will all be fine. We will figure it out from there. Is it cold by you already?
