Hi all. I am trying to find some fun activities/events on the weekends for our kids, they are 2 and 6. We really dont do all that much and I would like to get them out more... We are in Pembroke Pines but can go pretty much anywhere around Ft Lauderdale or Miami.. Does anyone have any suggestions on places to go, that arent too expensive ? I appreciate any ideas!!

Jennifer

Try Sugar Sands Park (Boca Raton I think) or Gumbo Limbo Nature Preserve.

It is a bit of a hike - but kids love it - especially if they pick - Knauss Berry Farm
The water feature at the park in Miramar on 172nd and Miramar Parkway
The Children's Museum - Miami - im sure they have free/low priced days
The South Florida Historical Museum - has a great interactive kids exhibit
The Museum on Broward near the Performing Arts )with IMAX - there are things for kids of all ages and a indoor play area I could never get my kids out of - they have fantastic summer programs also.

YES! that place is great! They have a nice train playroom for kids to explore the thomas trains. It's also nice "touring" the inside of the real trains. Awesome place for families to spend the day. BTW-- I believe it's free the 1st. Saturday of the month-check website!

Hi I also highly recommend the South Florida Parenting Magazine which lists all kid's activities for the season. There is a FUN PASS they sell that gives you several free admissions to different museums, etc. I believe it costs $11. Also check out the Young at art Museum in Davie. Also, Thomas the Train visits that Railroad Museum about once a year so be sure to check it out. My kids loved that place. There is so much to do in that area! I miss it.
