Wife and I are going on vacation in a few weeks and was hoping someone could recommend a good medium price hotel in Fort Lauderdale. Something safe, clean, and with a good location. Thanks much!

The Hampton Inn downtown Fort Lauderdale is a good one. Had relatives stay there recently and its right downtown. Near the Las Olas section and only about 1 mile or less from the beach.

If you want cheaper, the LaQuinta Inn on US1 about 2 blocks north of Commercial Blvd is ok. There's nothing luxurious about it, but it is efficient and clean and in a good location.
