Hubby just accepted a job in FT Lauderdale off Sunrise Blvd...
Will be traveling some... We do not have any small children but do have two small dogs and an adult daughter moving with us...
WE don't know any areas and don't want to move to a dump or dangerous neighborhood... Been looking at rental.com... Just all so confusing...
We will be renting and I would like a single family home with a fence for the dogs of course...
I thought DC rent was high but I am finding FT Lauderdale rent is high also... We will need the home by May 1 since I will be staying behind to sell the home here in VA.
Our daughter is in early 20's and will need to find a job too...
At our age didn't think we would be moving again but the economy took a job from him with 25 yrs so not ready to retire yet...
Any suggestions would be great... Thanks... Confused in VA

Without any budget information I would recommend looking primarily at Oakland Park (east of Andrews Avenue, north and south of Oakland Park Blvd), or areas of NE Fort Lauderdale like Imperial Point or either side of the Commercial Boulevard corridor (east of Dixie Highway). These would all be convenient to work and in desirable, established neighborhoods. Good luck!

We would love to stay under $2200.. But what I am seeing don't know if I have to bump my budget or not... I also found out that in certain cities there is a certain number of dogs you can have...We have two small dogs under 25 lbs..Dont want to really live on a canal because of gators and mosquitos...
Thanks, Hubby will be down there this upcoming weekend and in spare time will be looking at neighborhoods

I would again definitely look at the above areas mentioned. I'm sending you via direct message some listings in good areas worth checking out.
