crime reports accurate? (Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Coral Springs: sex offenders, neighborhoods, suburbs)

While viewing crimereports.com I see a lot of crime reported in Broward County but almost nothing in Dade. You will still see the list of sex offenders listed in both counties but it seems like there isn't any data once you get below the county line.

It is also interesting to note that once you get between Sheridan St and Pembroke Rd there is a large influx of issues/crimes but on either side of them almost none. Is this a true reflection or just that the site isn't reporting crimes accurately?

Reporting is a problem in some cases. The other issue is that Broward has about 30-40 suburbs and they almost all have good and bad parts. You cannot rely solely on crime reports of each suburb. For instance, Miramar has an east and west part. West has almost zero crime. East has a ton of crime. Same is true in Pompano Beach, Plantation, Davie, Hollywood, Fort Lauderdale, and other suburbs. South FL has many pockets of good and bad. Just because a neighborhood is in Coral Springs doesn't mean its good and just because a neighborhood is in Miramar doesn't mean it is bad.

Also, regarding the area between Sheridan and Pembroke Rd.- that is only true east of Palm Avenue and west of Florida's Turnpike. Once you go west of Palm Avenue or east of Florida's Turnpike, the areas take on entirely different characteristics.

As I explained in another thread, Broward County can be divided into 3 main columns- East, West, and Central. East and West are good areas and Central is bad. This holds true in most cases. The dividing lines would be Dixie Highway to the east and Florida's Turnpike to the west. Now, in Miramar, the bad areas extend further west than the Turnpike out to around Palm Avenue. As you go west of Palm Avenue, the neighborhoods become much better and more middle class. If you go west of I-75, everything is nice middle class or affluent.
