Hi. I am planning to vacation at Marriott Beach Palace (timeshare) in a few weeks. I was wondering if there are good restuarants or food stores within walking distance? We are trying not to rent a car. Any information would be appreciated.

Do you mean the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort...great place...but off the beaten track...you have a 1/2 + mile walk to the main strip...and parking at the hotel is around $30.00 a day...when my wife and I stayed there we took cabs almost every where...

No, we are staying at Marriott Beach Place which is right on A1A. I was just curious if there were any stores to food shop.

My parents also have a timeshare right at the marriot. It's great, everything is within walking distance, restaurants, shopping, etc. Have fun, wish I was there!

We have stayed at the Hilton several times which is alittle further north on the strip...in all our visits there I do not remember every seeing a supermarket where you can purchase food......but I am sure they exist somewhere close by...since the area has numerous residential buildings...

Try the Fort Lauderdale Culinary Instutite for a meal, 1799 SE 17st...call ahead...but you can get a 5 course meal for around $30.00...all the bars on the strip add a 18% tip to everything as well as the smaller restaurants...so when paying your bill...look the check over...

You are close to Los Olas...so do yourselves a favor and take a cab up or just walk...has alot of shops...places to eat...or just something to do if it rains...

You can take a cab ride everywhere you need. Just google Yellowcab's # and call them. As long as you're traveling in the immediate Fort Lauderdale area, cab rides are relatively cheap.

Also, I concur with the poster who said check out Las Olas. It is only a mile from your hotel on the mainland.
