Melrose Park is a neighborhood in the western part of Fort Lauderdale. It is generally south of Broward Blvd., north of Davie Boulevard, west of 441 and east of SW 31st Ave.

It looks a bit scruffy in spots but is not a scary neighborhood. The neighborhood consists mostly of small single family homes although you will find some duplexes in that neighborhood as well as some small apartment complexes.

The neighborhood is mostly black with some whites and very few hispanics. It is a very conveniently located neighborhood. It is easy to get to downtown Fort Lauderdale and also convenient to get to I-95, I-595 and the FL Turnpike.

I am looking to buy a duplex and that neighborhood is at the top of my list as it does not seem to be as run down as many of the neighborhoods that have multi family dwellings. People seem to keep their houses up but like many neighborhoods in Fort Lauderdale there are a fair number of foreclosures in the area.
