click on "property search," then "accept," then address or owner's name. Once you are on the property page, you can check "view map" and check the propeties sold on that subdivision in 2011, 2010, etc

Nothing is really secret any more. You can find any improvements they did and see if they pulled permits. Maybe they are showing you a closed in carport or addition they did and calling it an extra bedroom that is not legal. Once you buy it it is your problem. I know a person who bought what they thought was a two story place that was actually a stilt home and the owners illegally enclosed the downstairs. They had to tear it all out. They had planned on renting the downstairs and that would have helped to paying for the home. All this could have been easily researched today. Trust noone do the research.

On the Property Appraiser's Website, you can also estimate the amount of taxes you would pay based on the expected sales price of the property.

I wouldn't say it is totally accurate. It wasn't for me when I bought my home. They mainly go by the assesed value of the home. So if you purchased a foreclosure, you will end up paying more than if it was abased on the sale price.
