Hi all, can anybody help me with tips on the following:

Snorkeling: where are the best places close to Lauderdale?

Fishing: where are the best places to fish, and recommended charters if the answer is deep sea...

Boating: is it easy to rent a boat and take it for a cruise - do you need a license - and do you have any recommended rental places?

Thanks so much in advance!

Lauderdale by the Sea just north of the fishing pier is good as well as off of the Hollywood public beach. I suggest getting a copy of "Diving Guide to Underwater Florida" by Ned DeLoach as well for more complete info.

I believe you need a State of FL boating license in order to operate a boat or else you need to be accompanied by someone with a license. There are liability issues with boats if you have an accident. You can rent jetski's much easier.
