I'm a 26 years old guy, have a bachelors in economics and I'm looking to leave ny and move somewhere to south florida.. I was originally considering moving to clearwater tampa, but I was told by some people who have lived in both areas that lauderdale was better.. I'm looking to rent a 1 bedroom apartment, get a job, make some money and have some fun. I'm expecting to pay around 900 for rent, and want to live somewhere safe and nice. Any general info, suggestions and/or advice is appreciated, thanks.

having lived in most parts of Florida (Clearwater, Tampa, Tallahassee, Orlando, SoFla...) I would take Clearwater (Beach?) over South Florida any day of the week. But that's me.

Safe and nice and $900 a month rent? I suppose somewhere near Nova Southeastern maybe...anyone else agree?

Either by NSU or somewhere in Hollywood east of U.S.1. I personally think Clearwater is gaudy and tacky. I like this coast much better, although most of the Tampa area is beautiful.
