I know N.Lauderdale is not the desirable place for some parts, but looking for an apartment between 750-900 and for the price($839) and sq footage(917 sq ft), it looks to be a bargain. I have went there at day/weekend and night where it seems quiet. Plus the mix of over 55 and a smaller unit of all ages seems to better than other places in terms of quiet setting and tampering down the bad behavior.

But if anyone has ideas of a nice area with that price range, I am all ears

bump just to update anyone interested. I finally settled on Cross keys because given the rent and size of the "villa" was perfect ($879 and 977 sq feet). Before I signed I did talk to some of the neighbors and went to the north lauderdale police station to hear what they had to say about it.

Outside of some loud young people that happens at times, the complex is quiet and the nothing of serious note happen there. They did note that because the amount of seniors living in the other buildings that behavior problems are low.

Its only for a year and basically looking at it as a starter place before moving on. Pretty excited. Here is hoping that I am not in for a year of hell and bad blog postings about my horrible rental life.

I'm moving down in August and from what you are saying, it sounds like a great price for the size. How is the parking situation without assigned parking? Also, I have a motorcycle...do you see any bikes around the complex? How is the safety in the complex...is there a lot of lighting?

Good luck. Maybe I'll be joining you in August! Haha

The website sucks with pictures...could you take some of your place and post them up here to help with my decision? Thanks!
