Top 23 U.S. hotspots for international buyers | Inman News

Fort Lauderdale was recently ranked 4th when ranking U.S. cities by searches by internationals looking to buy real estate in the U.S. I believe the most people searching for FLL came from Mexico, Canada, and the UK.

FLL ranked higher than Miami! Wow, this floored me because I did not know that Lauderdale was so well known outside the U.S.

What do you think this means for the future of FLL?

On one hand, it seems like more interest in FLL from international buyers would be good in that it would increase diversity (as long as the buyers are not all coming from one country) and increase property values. On the other hand, would it change the ambience of FLL to the detriment?

Any thoughts?

I think FLL ranks higher than Miami because prices are cheaper here, there is less traffic, less crime, and there are just as many amenities in FLL as Miami. In fact, Lauderdale is actually better situated location wise and in many regards.
