It seems like people are asking these sort of questions all the time in various threads.
Could we make this the definitive one?
I'm considering moving at some point and I occasionally browse the apartment/condo websites but I have no idea of the safety of the areas they mention.

Any locals (Nolefan) wanna step up?
Any info is greatly appreciated!

Areas around Fort Lauderdale...

Westin, Deerfield, Pembroke, Davie, Dania Beach, Plantation, yadda yadda?

It would be nearly impossible to come up with a thread outlining all of the good and bad areas in all of Broward County. Every suburb has good and bad areas except Weston. You would probably need someone to draw a large map and shade in good, bad, and mixed areas to illustrate it. But the question you have is too complicated to answer in one message board post and too general.

This map was started in 2009...maybe someone can add to it or start a new one?

Interesting concept, but I doubt it could be a community effort map since the "community" would never likely come to any agreement as to definitions for about two-thirds of the geography involved.

Thats my map...almost forgot about that! Have been very busy with life but I could try to expand it when there is time and/or figure out a way to open it for collaboration. It's inspired off a very similar map in the Miami forum that didn't get too much controversy at all, and everything in the Miami forum gets controversy. My map is based off of perceived safety and overall condition of the communities, so not really scientific and only to be taken as a guideline at MOST.

Compelled,
Please expand the map when you have the time. I am especially interested in Davie and Cooper City. Thank you in advance :-)

Compelled-

I remember that map from the Miami forum. But it was more comical and satirical about the people who live in each district rather than the safety. I would be glad to help you work on a map. I used to draw maps for a hobby a while back but gave it up in recent years.
