I am moving to Ft lauderdale for my job. I will be working close to Eller Drive, Ft lauderdale (close to airport). I was wondering where should I look for good and affordable apartments close to my work place. I am willing to drive 10 -15 miles. I am looking for one bedroom apartment with monthly rent up to $1000.00

Thanks.

There is an apartment community called The Falls at Marina Bay located on SR-84 just west of I-95. It would take you 5-10 minutes to drive to work. Zero traffic. You take one street called SR-84 east 1-2 miles and it goes right into the Port. I'm not sure what their units are going for right now, but it is right around $1000-1100 for a 1BR. There is one other community on the same street just past there called New River Cove which is comparable.

Also, you may want to check out the Sheridan Ocean Club in Dania Beach. Their units are probably around $900 and very nice. The only issue I had with that place is that the security gates are broken and no security to prevent anyone from driving in.

These are not the nicest areas to live in, but they're reasonably safe areas. In order to get "nice" you'll have to spend more.
