I mentioned Aventura because it is the closest to where the original poster will be living in Hollywood.

Finally someone who gets it, it's a indoor shopping plaza, not a mall. Plus it hasn't been good to shop there in ages, they should just knock it down and put new stores there.

For the OP so you know.

Sawgrass Mills Mall, second largest mall in South FL. Great outlet shopping with a newly added section for high-end shopping. It's in the middle of Broward so it's pretty much close to most areas. Wear good walking shoes, trust me! (No sandles!)

Broward Mall, is located in Plantation. A bit small compared to the other malls, but still great shopping with your basic mall stores.

Galleria Mall, is located in Fort Lauderdale near the beach. It was never shut down, just remodeled. Very nice inside now. Alot of high end shopping.

Aventura Mall is the LARGEST mall in South FL. It's two stories, and full of shops and a movie theater. If your going to go there, plan to make a day of it, cause you can get losted in all the awesome shopping. It's technically located in Miami, but it's soooooo close to Broward you can get there pretty easy. Alot of high end stores, with very high end people, you will find out the second you pull into the parking lot and see all the cars.....(Wear good walking shoes here too!)

Pembroke Lakes Mall is more like a super complex with a mall stuck in the middle. The mall is fairly large, with great shopping. all around the mall are different plazas with more great shopping, but aren't a part of the "mall" itself. Like pretty much all the malls down here, but this one is very large.

Coral Square Mall is a smaller mall located in Coral Springs, pretty much the same as Broward Mall.

So yeah, come down here and bring alot of cash and enjoy all the malls here, it's why they are there for. Hope that list helps you.

Aventura is the largest mall technically, but Sawgrass seems way way bigger. I guess it is due to the fact that Aventura is more compact with 2 levels and Sawgrass is like a never-ending series of tunnels. I am amazed that these 2 malls are ranked the 5th and 6th largest malls in the U.S. respectively.

For basics, such as Penney's and Dilliards, go to Broward Mall or Pembroke Lakes. Easy in, easy out. You won't deal with huge crowds and finding parking.

For more selection and some higher end retail, go to Aventura. You'll deal with parking headaches and loads of foreign tourists. But you'll find everything you want.

For someone on a budget, go to the outlet stores at Sawgrass.

Take a 25 minute drive north on 95 exit Glades Road and check out Boca Town center. Town center is very nice and has great shopping.

Sometimes traffic can be hectic due to the mall being located right off of 95. Parking is pretty easy.

+1. I would take Boca Town Center anyday over Aventura. Driving to Aventura is a completely nightmare, and the Boca Town Center is very close to anyone who lives near 95. It's super easy to get to and I have never had a problem. Although it's in Palm Beach County, it's a great option.

Boca Town Center is really far away from Hollywood. Aventura is minutes away. I prefer Aventura to Boca Town Center anyways because they have a men's Express. Boca TC's Express is women's only.
