How is the community theater scene? (Miami, Coral Gables: live in, metro area, area)

I live in Denver and the scene here is pretty massive. There are over 60 theater companies in the metro area so there's always something to try out for. I checked out some websites for South Florida but it doesn't seem to be very informative. How is the scene?

The community theatre scene here is rather small. There are some small companies, but given that this town isn't that involved in theater, other than the Broward Center of the Performing Arts, it's almost nonexistent, sadly.

Some might argue with the few theater groups we have here are high quality venues and performers, but you'll rarely find that here in FTL, plus there really isn't a sense of community - that's one very lacking commodity in this town.

Local community theater does exist in South Florida. I have 2 brothers-in-law that used to belong with ACME Acting Company, but sadly is no longer formally together. However, here are some sites to check out. Support your local theater!!! I do.
