My fiance and I are in our late 20's. We are spending about a week in Deerfield Beach in an oceanfront room. We mostly like to sight see, and check out nature walks and paths. Is there any can't miss attractions for the entire South Florida area? We will have a rental car with unlimited mileage so we plan on driving down to the keys and all over south Florida.

Is everglades national park worth visiting in May, or are the bugs going to be too bad to bear?

A day trip just up north A1A runs along the seashore.
Another day trip down to Key West, fly out to Dry Tortugas.

I was looking at the ferry to dry tortugas, but didn't want to spend the $160 per person to get there. Mostly looking for local nature walks, and places like that. A few years ago we found a little place called Flamingo Gardens in Davie, that was a real nice animal sanctuary and a great way to spend a day.

We are going to check out the zoo in miami, and the aquarium in key west.
