We are looking to move back to S Fl. We moved out of Pompano to A suburb outside of dallas. We are looking into moving out west like cooper city, weston, p.pines, coral springs. Thins in TX are very differnet compared to south fl. Housing is affordable and most communities are generally nice. We are looking for a community similar to what we have here. Our daughter is having a hard time wanting to go back, which I dont blame her pompano wasnt the greatest place on earth and neither were the schools.
Anyways do the communities out west tend to let their children play freely outside? I know in Pompano that never happened at least the neighborhood we were in, I would have never let my kids out to play freely. Here in Tx its different low crime, in general I think people seem to be more trusting in as they let their kids just roam the community and play freely outside. I dont see that so much in S Fl.
I was just curous how the communities out west are. Do their tend to be a lot of families out there and do they tend to let the chidren play freely. Coming back to S Fl even in those communities seeing how florida is I think I would be on the fence about it. I think my daughter is having a hard time going back because she compares all S Fl to how pompano is and generally she has more freedom here and much better school. Just looking for some advice on those areas

I can speak for Weston. Kids play outside all the time, within the gated communities that is. Or they go to parks (get driven there or go by bikes). It is very safe.

When we lived in Weston kids played outside all the time. My kids are teens so they do less outdoor playing now but in Plantation Acres I see kids outside playing all the time.

What about in northern Coral Springs? I'd think kids would play outside there.

When I'm walking my dog in the early evenings before dark, I see clusters of kids playing outside in my Weston neighborhood. One family has a rope swing attached to the oak tree in the front yard and there's a few kids that like to run around and play there.

Kids play outside all the time in Cooper City, and there are many neighborhood parks. I also see many adults walking, mom's pushing strollers, people walking their dogs. It's a friendly community. There have been some issues with home burglaries lately during the day, though.

I've lived in Weston for over 10 years and it's going DOWN HILL, it's still better than most places, but it is over priced big time , and the crime has gone way up and YES in the gated ones too !
3 weeks ago , there was a murder, no one talks about, armed robberies and day time break in's, check the BSO site it's all there, crime , sex offender's...yes the schools are good, Western High is Just as good as C.B. . Weston is what you make of it, but it is family friendly, and has alot of nice parks and things to do.

I have to agree ... especially given that it is a town now with nearly 75,000 residents ... still a great place to live .. I have friends in Alpharetta , Georgia near Atlanta and The Woodlands , Texas near Houston .. two beautiful Weston type communities and they have their share of vandalism , break ins , assault and robberies as well ... as serene as these types of communities are they all have their share of crime .... anyhow still would rather live in Alpharetta than Atlanta , The Woodlands than Houston and Weston rather than Miami ... yes down hill is too strong a word .
