Hello everyone! Ok, I currently live in the Brickell-area of Miami but have a new job in Boca. I was thinking of moving to Ft. Laudy so I can be halfway between work in Boca and all my friends/my life in Miami.

My question is, where do you suggest I live? I don't know Ft. Lauderdale as well as I probably should and feel helpless! I am a 29 y/o single male and am looking for a 1/1 relatively close to people my age/bars/restaurants etc (typical yuppie crowd..if you know Miami think of a place similar to Brickell). I was thinking Oakland Park/Wilton Manors based purely on location but don't know these areas TOOO well (visited only a few times). Any other suggestions? I've heard great things about Hollywood but I'm wondering if that's still too much of a haul up to Boca. Thoughts? Thank you!!!!

Also, as a Miami resident for 5+ years I'm well-aware of the crazy traffic So. Fla offers....

You're in my situation as well. I live in Miami-Dade and work in Boca (sometimes) and Ft Laud so I want to move up to Ft Laud. Most similar to Brickell, I'd say you should look at the downtown Ft. Lauderdale (financial center)/Las Olas area. And yes Hollywood is still too far to Boca. Ft Laud is your best bet for a 30 minute drive.

Rootzdread is correct. Las Olas vicinity would be a good location for you. I had a couple of clients who moved from SoBe to near Las Olas for that same reason. It is not quite the same, but you will find a neat crowd in Ft. Lauderdale too.
