My wife and I are looking for a rental. Which areas should we concentrate on and which should we avoid? We've heard some areas are less than ideal.

Also, what are some other safe suburbs to look into? I want to be able to walk around the area without worrying.

98 percent of coral springs is fine. Northwest is one of the best.

Avoid the area between Sample Rd and Wiles Rd, and many managed apartment complexes. The rest is fine. Other areas you can look into for rentals that are safe- Coconut Creek, Boca, Tamarac west of University, Sunrise west of University.

most rentals between Atlantic and Royal Palm, west of University will be whats your looking for, esp around Lake Coral Springs.

What about very far west - between Wiles and Sample, just off of Coral Ridge Dr?

Also, how about the far northern part of Tamarac (bordering Coral Springs), west of University?

It could be OK, but might not be. There are some slightly sketchy neighborhoods right off of Coral Ridge in this area, although depending on your tolerance level you might find them fine. There are some nice neighborhoods off of even Riverside Drive (this is the sketchiest area of Coral Springs). The fact is that none of Coral Springs is lethally dangerous, but most of the worst areas are clustered between Sample and Wiles, spanning the entire city, although even within this zone there are plenty of areas that aren't bad, it is just more hit and miss. The best idea is to see the areas for yourself, but if this isn't possible then you cant go wrong if you avoid that whole zone.

Completely, 100% fine by all standards.

Thanks for the info. There are some rentals close to Wiles and Coral Ridge. I guess one of the rentals does say section 8 welcome, though, even though the rent isn't cheap.

Also, this seems weird to me because I've been told the far northern part of Coral Springs (north of Wiles, bordering Parkland) is the best part. Is this true?

So, if we completely avoid all areas between Wiles & Sample the entire rest of the city is safe?
