Guyz, me and my wife are moving from Orlando to south broward county. I got a job in work (Coral Gables) but she is looking to work in south Broward. Also we prefer Broward to Miami for the slightly less denser environment and a bit cheaper living. I dont mind a 30-40 min commute. My work hours will be 10-7.

I am however lost between the selection of areas like Miramar, Hollywood, Hallandale, Aventura, Pembroke Pines. We are looking for a 1 to 2 bedroom apartment in $1000/month. The area needs to be nice, low crime, walkable, and the apartment should have usual commodities like central AC, patio, dishwasher etc., gym and or pool (I prefer pool). If a condo is available in this price range that would be good as well.

Please advice. If you can be more specific about any particular rental community, apartment complex or area that would be really helpful. Looking forward to your suggestions.

Check out Young Circle/Downtown in Hollywood. It's a fairly safe area and quite walkable.

Hollywood is going to be your best bet within that price range, for a safe area that is convenient to I-95 and the turnpike. There are apartment complexes around Hollywood Blvd. and I-95 which are decent. Try the complexes around Hollywood Blvd. and South Park Road in Hollywood.
