The biggest news I've heard in hiring is a call center in Margate. That's not worth moving for.

The hiring of RNs has picked up again, and Jackson Hospital is operating at a profit, but they had big layoffs. Expect it to bite them in the ass when they find that the work they outsourced casues them to lose the profits the layoffs gained.

If you're a good looking waiter or bartender, you can find a job very easily and make more money than at an entry level corporate job. I know a few people who've been waiters/bartenders for at least 20 years who have never been out of work, and don't seem to know that a recession hit us.

Yes, new residents can find jobs quickly, depending on what they are willing and are able to do. The most important skill someone searching for a job can possess is the ability to convincingly distort reality or lie, in other words become a sociopath and you will not have any trouble finding work.

The emphasis in the USA needs to move away from people finding jobs to people starting their own businesses.

My girlfriend has only held low paying part time jobs since we moved down here almost a year ago. Its not a good market at all, since many entry level jobs require you to be friends with someone who works there. She is only a high school graduate in her 20s, and there are an endless supply of under educated people like her down here.

You are one of many, trust me I know of plenty of B.S and higher graduates waiting tables, spinning pizzas and etc and they are disgusted with the market here but won't leave because they will miss the lifestyle.

Not really the case now, maybe 8 years ago when the job market was great, 3 to 4% unemployment. New residents that find jobs came here with a job lined up.

Problem: who has the money to start their own business when they are out of work? Plus the failure rate for new businesses is astronomical.
