Any thoughts on these schools? Good/bad? Ive heard good things about Ramblewood but dont know anyone who actually sends their kids to those schools. Can someone give me some insight on them? I have a one child who will be attending elementary and another in middle. Does the middle have lost of sporting programs?

I attended Ramblewood Middle and Taravella in the 90s, and at the time, they were two of the best schools in the county. Both have received National School of Excellence awards.

While I can't speak for them now, I can't see any reason why they would have changed a whole lot since. But like any other schools (and this doesn't exclude private schools), there will always be good influences and bad influences. Your children will become what they make of it.

I seem to recall Middle having quite a few sporting options, but my yearbooks are buried somewhere in the garage so I really can't confirm right now. I do, however, remember many classmates also taking up city youth leagues.

Not really sure about sports (my dd is NOT into it) but academically, she is thriving very well. We moved here a year ago and she is now in 7th grade at Ramblewood. She ended last year with straight A's. She also did wonderfully on the FCAT exams. She really likes her school and so far, the teachers are pretty good too. There's one that rubbed us the wrong way, but my dd has been doing very well in his class and she has had no complaints. Our son goes to Riverside and also is doing very well and likes his teacher (maybe a little too much lol - first crush awwww)
