Can any one recommend a nice beach area to have a Bar-B-Que get together or a nice park/picnic area near a beach where we could bring some grilling equipment for a get-together in Broward?

Thanks for all your suggestions.

The obvious is Birch state Park; there is also one near the Intercoastal in Hollywood; Haulover also has a nice beach with picnic areas.

Is there an admission fee for Birch state Park?

John U. Lloyd State Park is also very nice. It is in Dania beach. The bonus is that it is next to Port Everglades and you get to see all the cruise ships leave on the weekend. It is an awesome sight.

I second John Lloyd -- lots of shelters right on the beach & you can walk to the jetty & very nice nature trails too.

Fort Lauderdale Beach Park. The Quebec snowbirds can be found there daily.

Does John Lloyd have swimming beach access onsite or close by?
