Hello,

I was wondering if I could get some help on the Deerfield Beach area. I was wondering if this is generally a safe area? Also are there any particular area that I should stay away from.

Specifically, I was wondering if anyone knows of The Enclave Apartments at Waterways. Is this a nice area/complex? It is located in Deerfield Beach at 4359 SW 10th Place. They say it is right across the street from Quiet Waters Park.

Any help would be appreciated!
Dina

I think that area of Deerfield Beach is fine, though I've not heard anything specific about that complex. It may be a little noisy with the Turnpike and Sawgrass Expressway nearby, but OK as far as crime. You also might want to check if there's a problem with the smell from the county landfill, which is a few miles south of there.

In general, western Deerfield is OK, as are the areas east of U.S. 1. Many of the areas in the middle, around I-95 and Dixie Highway, are best avoided.

Deerfield is...ehh. It has it's good and it's bad. Overall the crime rate is on the high side of average. Stay out of neighborhoods between U.S.1 and I-95. As chisoxfan mentioned, you should be fine in west Deerfield. Actually, he pretty much said all that needs to be said. Depending on your requirements or price range, you might want to look for rentals a little further west in Coral Springs or further north in Boca Raton. Stay out of Coconut Creek complexes, they tend to suck, although the area is fine.

Well, I'll be working in Boca so I want to have a quick commute but don't want to pay the higher rents of Boca. Although it may be worth the extra for safety and convenience. Thank you for you help also, Fort Lauderdale.

The complex looks really lovely and you can have pets. I only found 1 review and it was positive.

I would not recommend Deerfield Beach. Not considering the crime, it is a bland, tasteless city with not much going for it.

My brother-in-law moved out of the Enclave about 4 months ago. He lived there for a year and hated it. The pool was always nasty dirty and the quality of people there was not very good. It seemd very poor to me. U cant smell the landfill from there but I would not reccommend the Enclave. It is also righ tnext to the tunpike so you can hear the trucks at night. Deerfield by the beach is great. I visit Deerfield Beach with the family all the time. That is my beach of choice. Deerfield also has plenty of ghetto areas, but you'll know it when u see it. Also the schools are not good if you have children.

Try looking into Deer Creek CC, on hissboro and powerline....it has condos, townhomes, apts, and houses -most are owned but with this market it is sure to be full of rentals and it's right on the border of boca/deerfield.

Unfortunatley, I didn't get the job in Boca but I am still looking. I am determined to get to that area and out of Ocala. Thanks for all the responses!! This info will be handy when the time comes!!
