Hi, People who have ever been or are usually around or actually live in davie, fl, Would y'all say that it is pretty southern down there? With the exception of the immigrants that live there, do the rest of the people have that southern twang that is found in the rest of florida and other southern states for that matter? Like, do they talk with a southern accent? Thank y'all!

Not really. A few but most have sold off their land to developers and are long gone.

It's not "southern" and your still going to hear something closer to traditional American English, but, unlike some other areas, it does exist.

So a southern accent is not commonplace there?? Not even slightly? And when you say "it does exist." What is "it"? What exists? thanks!

The southern accent is what "exists". It's present and more so than other communities, but certainly not "commonplace".

So would you say that there are certain "pockets" within the city where it is more prominent or prevalent than in other parts of Davie??? seriously?

Actually yes. It's common in the 33330 zip code, which is a heavily equestrian area were a few people actually haven't sold off yet. It's around in little pockets along the Hiatus Road corridor. It's also around in some of the mobile home parks in the eastern part of the city (). Interestingly the mobile home parks in the west half resemble typical South Florida demographically, mostly priced out transplants. The accent even exists in the local school system.

That is very interesting! So like what about culture, will I ever see a couple of rebel flags on cars or anywhere? ( No, I'm NOT racist ) Is there good southern food available? Are there country radio stations?
Btw, how is the local school system? How many schools are in it?

Yes on the first, not sure on the second, no on the third, but there is a regional station. It does have a little bit of it's own flavor (Western themed actually), but it mostly just blends in as a middle class bedroom community like other surrounding communities.

As far as the local school system, they are some of the best in Broward County. On the east half is the Nova schools, which take in a large amount of magnet students. I'm not personally sure about the number of schools, but they are generally well rated. Every single school in the city limits is "A" rated except for Western High School, which is "B" rated, but has test scores considerably above the county and state average. It is generally known to be a friendly community with a high quality of life for a family.

That's cool it sounds nice but I don't know...I'm not sure...So I was looking on the map (google maps) and I saw places with names like sunshine ranches and southwest ranches...Are they pretty much the same as davie or are they even more along the lines of what I'm looking for?? And when you say western themed, what do you mean? like there are cowpeople just walking around in the streets or something?? Thank you so much for answering my questions up till now!
