Looking for 'one of the best' primary physicians. I live in Sunrise, Fl. So I'd like some (preferably a male doctor) in close proximity to my area. Want someone who not only knows his stuff, but is still young enough to practice medicine - I don't want to worry if I need a major operation that he 'might leave an operating tool in my body' or not operate correctly, due to his age. Looking for a 'personable doctor' - someone who will take his time with you and not 'dismiss' you as quickly as possible because he wants to hurry up w/his day and go home. And, no rude staff, please!! Thank you!

A surgeon is not likely to be a good primary care physician. See what the Cleveland Clinic in Weston has to offer. Top notch doctors there and lots of ongoing training and review.

Hi. Dont choose a doctor based on qualities such as youth, gender, appearance, or presumed niceness. The best clinicians arent necessarily the ones who smile the most or who spend a lot of face time with you. They are the ones who will give you the care that you need, not what you want. Primary care is changing. Unless you can afford to pay for concierge medical care youre not going to get any semblance of 'old school' caring. There are a few exceptions but these are fast disappearing because of the political and financial changes that are impacting medicine. Soon there wont be any primary care doctors. But thats its own thread. Dont go to a surgeon for primary care. You wont get it. I will pm you the name of a good primary care doctor in the sunrise/plantation area.

Can you message me the name of the doctor too?

Try Zocdoc.com. I found the best OB/GYN in the world. Very thorough and very personable and I never liked women doctors but she changed my way of thinking..
