Looking to move to Florida, not really certain destination. We are looking for:
1. Excellent school system
2. Median cost of living
3. Family Friendly
4. Not really suburban would love to be less than a 1/2 hr to city (Keep in mind we currently live in bergen county nj very close to nyc)
5. Close to churches

Please advise... I am an experienced RN for 10 years and my husband is an industrial designer.

Thanks. God bless..

I am very new to the area as well, and we have just put an offer on a home in Parkland. In terms of excellent school system and family friendly, I have done a lot of research and came up with Weston, Parkland or north Coral Springs. I'm sure many on this forum will be able to give you lots more information! Good luck.

Yep, for top-rated schools in k-12 you're looking at Parkland or Weston if your focus is on Broward County. You don't have to concern yourself with a particular neighborhood in either city as all sections as they both don't have any "sketchy" areas. However, both are suburb. They are not much further than 30 minutes or so from Ft Lauderdale (downtown and beach area) on a good traffic day and sometimes 45 minutes or more during tourist season.

Good luck!

yet both fail the OP's #2 requirement- median cost of living.

What about the median cost of living? Does the OP want a low or high median cost of living? Or a medium one?
