We are relocating to South Florida and have narrowed our search down to Cooper City. Can anyone tell me anything about Embassy Creek or Cooper City Elementary? The houses we are considering flow into those two schools. Also any advice about areas to explore would be appreciated. My husband will be working in Doral. TIA

Be prepared people are going to tell you to buy in Weston in here!

Nothing wrong with that as it would be most people 1st choice...especially where schools are a concern.

Hi we just moved in June from Texas to Cooper City and my sons just started at Embassy Creek. So far it seems like a good school the teachers appear nice and happy to be there. Don't know much more. I heard Weston on this forum a lot also. It just wasn't for us. Funny my husband works in Doral also.
I miss Texas but so far Cooper City has turned out to be a great place for a family. Feel free to message me.

Yes that is a theme on this board and with realtors. Everyone is very insistant that Weston is the place to be but it's not as if there aren't good schools in other areas. My aunt lived in Plantation for 25 years and has assurred me the schools in Cooper City are good. They are rated 9/10. We like the location of Cooper City more than Weston AND we can get much more for our money. I'd be curious to hear from anyone who has any personal experience with the elementary schools in Cooper City specifically, understanding we do not want to be in Weston. Thank you!

Embassy Creek is nice. Very much like Weston, just on a smaller scale.

Many of my younger son's friends attend Embassy Creek Elementary, and we know several of the teachers there. It's a good school in a good area.

I don't know as much about Cooper City Elementary, but there certainly isn't anything wrong with the area. We considered moving into a house right across from that school, but ultimately decided on one a little further west, near Griffin Elementary.

Both schools feed into Pioneer Middle, which has a very good reputation. My son attends Cooper City High, and he is very happy there.

You see Weston suggested here often because it is a nice place to live. It's not for everybody though. For those that choose to live elsewhere, Cooper City is a good choice - especially if you have kids.

Well, both the youth and high school sports teams in Cooper City are known as the Cowboys - so there's something in common with Texas...

Also I think Florida cowboys pre-dated the Texas ones

Love Cooper City... We just moved from there to Southwest Ranches but still own the property there. You won't go wrong with schools there.... Oh, and I personally prefer Cooper City and western part of Davie over Weston

Here's a bit of off-subject trivia: my mother's older (and favorite) sister - my Aunt Shirley - married Burton Cooper who was the son of Morris Cooper, the founder of Cooper City. I met Morris a few times before he died in 1975 and his wife Clara gave me a tour of their lovely home on Pine Tree Drive in Miami Beach.
