Planning a family trip to South Fl. (Palm Beach) in mid-January or late February. We're big into beaches and water activities. Any feedback on the weather (water temp/tides) during those times and if you rec Jan or Feb?

Also, anybody been to a fruit picking orchard (particularly interested in tropical fruits). I heard there were some in Fort Lauderdale/Miami but haven't found the names/locations.

Thanks in advanced for your help!

You may want to post in the Palm Beach forum for more responses. I can tell you that there is no better weather in America than South FL in the winter. Weather is still hit or miss because it occasionally gets chilly, occasionally gets hot, and if you get unlucky it can ran every day for a week. Right now we are experiencing record temps and have not had any remotely cool weather this winter. That can change by Jan/Feb though.

Water temps are the warmest you will find anywhere, but will be cooler than usual due to the time of year. It is still plenty warm enough to swim and do water sports in. You won't need a wet suit.

Water temps can be a bit cool in January. February is reliably warmer although it has been very warm this winter. The website below lists pick your own fruit places in SE Florida.

Where in Southeast Florida to find pick your own farms and orchards for fruit, vegetables, pumpkins and canning & freezing instructions!
