My husband and I are moving to FL. He will be flying out of Miami. We do not want to live right in Miami. We have been looking in the Fort Lauderdale area and recently have seen homes in Coral Springs that we really like.

Online It makes it sound wonderful, on some of these forums, it makes it sounds like a really dangerous neighborhood. I would like a honest answer. Is coral springs, unsafe?

Thank you

I have a bunch of coworkers and friends who live in Coral Springs. They are fine. Some are not too happy, but still fine.

Some parts of Coral Springs are lovely, some not so much. You could probably find parts that aren't too safe.

Overall, I would say there are better towns out there.

If you want a safe place - Weston. Safe all around, no bad parts. Or Parkland.

If your husband will be flying out of Miami, Coral Springs may be a bit far to commute.

Have you heard about Miami Springs? Neat little town, very close to MIA.

Other suggestions - Cooper City, Plantation, Davie. And parts of Fort Lauderdale proper.

Coral Springs has changed drastically over the years I have lived in Broward County, I would NEVER want to live there and besides that, it would be a very long commute to Miami, I would suggest Weston, West Davie and west Cooper City for easier access to highways to Miami but if you insist on wanting to live up that way then Parkland.

Depending on where you live in coral springs it might not be to far to get to Miami or the airport. I use to live in Miami and I would take the sawgrass expressway to get to Miami or I-95. But to make it an easier commute Pembroke Pines, Miramar, Weston and Parkland like mentioned in earlier post are ideal places to live in.
