currently live in Brickell and will most likely end up settling here, but have not spent much time in FLL and looking to check out the area one of these upcoming Thursday nights or a weekend (day or night).

what would be a couple of nice places to grab a good meal (not really into chains if I can avoid it...Italian, steak, tapas, Mediterranean, seafood do it for me) where I could sit at the bar (preferably with a TV in case there is a good game on) and then head out for a drink. Rooftop at 1WLO looks like a nice spot and I am looking forward to the opening of The Dalmar, with its rooftop Sparrow bar.

I'm in my 50's, but prefer a younger (30's-early 40's, not 20's nor retirees) clean cut, straight, professional, nice looking crowd. Not into club scenes, craft beer bars, etc. Are some places more popular on certain nights than others (i.e. in South Beach, Baoli is happening on a Wednesday night; Living Room @ Faena is happening on a Friday night); is there a good happy hour place or two on a Friday afternoon/early evening; is there a great spot or two (maybe by the water--river or beach that is locals, not predominantly tourists) on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon (comparable to a Seaspice or Kiki's on the River in Miami)??....a walkable area with a concentration of what I'm looking for within +/- 10-12 minutes of one another would be ideal if this is even an option.

My only recent experience with FLL since I moved here 16 months ago is Lou Bossi's for lunch--ok, not great, food and wasn't my crowd (albeit, it was lunchtime).

Thanks

Follow me on Facebook, man.

There is a new New Orleans style place on Las Olas, called Balcony, that just opened. Looks nice. I haven't visited there yet.

Happy hour places:
Wine + Garden on Fort Lauderdale Beach, Breakers Avenue and Terramar Street,

Rythm and Vine Garden and Den in Flagler Village

Bar Stache in Himmarshee.

Tap 42

You should also check out the Casablanca restaurant on Fort Lauderdale Beach.

S3 on the beach is quite nice too.

Further north - Shooters, Kaluz, Blue Moon Fish Company.

Aruba on the beach in Lauderdale by the Sea.

Definitely revisit Louie Bossi at night. Completely different vibe. Great over 35 crowd.

The Balcony is pretty cool. Great views.

The Rooftop has kind of a weird vibe, great views but it is still finding its place. A young crowd on the weekends.

El Camino on Las Olas has been killing it every night.

Spazio gets a fantastic crowd on Sunday afternoon that is a good mix of locals, again, over 35-40 crowd.

.
I love all three of those but the average age is about 22 and is a lot of white girl wasted.

Thanks for the tips....El Camino looks like it must be owned by the same group in Delray Beach....a few of the places have TVs so I can check out a Yankee game while drinking...will check out...thanks again.

Also if you want to stick to the beach -

Casablanca
S3 (Sun, Surf, and Sand) at the bottom of the Hilton hotel - always smells like delicious food, and a good crowd
Terra Mare - at the bottom of the Conrad hotel
Steak 954 restaurant and the Living Room lounge with a 4th floor outdoor terrace at the W Hotel
