So I have a job prospect in the Fort Lauderdale area and I'm basically putting the cart in front of the horse, but I'm starting to casually look at real estate down there.

I essentially have two likely conflicting inclinations that I need to balance out. I love walkable urban neighborhoods, I love walking and cycling as much as possible. I also want a single-family home with as much, seclusion (for lack of a better term) as possible. I hate dog noise, and I like outdoor privacy, big tall fences are a huge plus. The size of the home isn't critical, single gay male here and I could go as small as two, maybe even one bedroom. Also concerned about flooding and would prefer as high land as possible, don't need to be super close to the beach. Looking in the 100-200k range.

I get that this is more of a question for a realtor, but I was just hoping to get some idea which neighborhoods to think about.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Wilton Manor would be a perfect area for you, but you would need to come up with a higher budget —at least $300K. Take a look at this home for example: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/2...43090336_zpid/

A single family home in the $100 - $200k range? Lol.

You need to start by renting, first. And yes, Alex is right, Wilton Manors is rather walkable and one of the largest gay villages in the US so that's maybe where you would want to start.

secluded urban patio areas can be found so hold out for what you need.

i dont mind the pet noise outside as much as the lack of neighbors not cleaning up after the pet, the bathroom pet odor is so bad.
