Those are the ones I am talking about. The big ugly mcmansions on the small plots of land. Ughhhhhh. Some of the new homes blend it well, the REAL custom homes that are proportional to the size of their lot.

yeah man, I agree. It was shocking to see these ugly places among the more native style homes. It is the same in Victoria Park.

Not all of it, a lot is still very nice/charming with those Mediterranean style and Florida style homes. But those really BIG out of places ones are horrible.
The med style homes are really cool looking. That would probably be our choice.
Thank you

from what compelled has said before, Hollywood Lakes seems to have the monopoly on those style homes. I will be there tomorrow. Will take pics and post them in the Ft. Lauderdale pics thread.

Wild Style, are you going to take pictures of what these places look like (the old mixed with the new)?

The right crowd to ask....
I'm opening a remodel company in Ft. Lauderdale this summer, the idea is to provide homeowners with the ability to turn the existing homes in the area into their dream home giving them full support (permits, subcontractors, financing, etc..) without breaking the bank
I've been in the construction and remodel business for many years and feel that most people are afraid of taking on such a project because it feels overwhelming, that's why I thought of offering a place where they can get all their projects done without hassle...we handle everything.
I've been buying foreclosures and fixing them for years, it pays off, but you gotta know what you're doing
do you guys think it's a good idea?
