Now living in NYC - Manh and Bklyn - hate the winter!
Retired mother and son are ready to rent or buy 2 bedroom property in an area that has some public transportation, walkable areas, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Publix, etc.
Museums, movie theaters, libraries, festivals, etc. besides nearby beach.
Is this too much to ask??
Appreciate all ideas!

There are a number of very nice rental apartment buildings in your price range in the Flagler Village area of Fort Lauderdale. It is very walkable and there are shops and restaurants around.
