It seems like recently the landward march of sargassum had abated and the beaches are returning to normal. I'm back up north until next weekend, but was wondering if anyone could share some pics showing how the water looks now?? I don't want to go three miles to the beach next weekend only to see murky water again.

Anyone have any recent pics from Fort Lauderdale beach?

Also, my place is in Wilton, any recommendations on best beach to lock up a bicycle? I tried Earl Lifshey Ocean Park in Oakland Park, but there were no bike racks or anywhere to lock up a bike and spend day on beach. Sunrise blvd better?

Any recommendations would be helpful.

What beaches do you suggest people go to outside the U.S. to avoid the rotting seaweed on the beaches?

I just read that this seaweed is now on almost all the beaches in the Caribbean and on the east coast of Mexico and it's now classified as the number one algae bloom problem in the world.

Just looked at the local beach cams and it is back as bad as ever. Yuk! It’s going to be like this all summer and probably winter too now.

Sargassum isn't a "problem" - it's natural. Some years it blooms more than others. It's incredibly important to sea life and great for the environment. The more of it, the better. It may be a nuisance at the beach, but it comes and goes. When you are born and raised here, it's a nothing-burger. It's part of life. For the newer arrivals, it's time to start adjusting to it.
