Is it a safe neighborhood?

I was looking at a property on SE 3rd Terrace, east of US1. How is that area to live?

That's a nice neighborhood and pretty safe. There's always property crime down here but east of US 1 in Dania is generally okay.

The area is fine. Only single family homes on SE 3rd Terr in Dania Beach. Very seasonal area. Are you looking for rent or to buy ? It is a safe neighborhood mostly.
Currently, as per April, 3rd 2020, there is no house for sale on 3rd Terrace, but there are 2 houses for sale on SE 4th Street, one of them is a 4-2 with asking price of $393,800, and the other one is a 3-3 with asking price of $525,000.
As you can see the neighborhood is not inexpensive, so it means there is a pride of ownership.
Near the beach, International Fort Lauderdale airport, supermarkets, casino, state parks, shopping, restaurants on the beach and on Dania Beach boulevard.

I'll interpret:

1. not inexpensive has nothing to do with "pride of ownership".........plenty of flips are asking all the money despite being bought for 50% less in the last few months, zero pride of ownership
2. near the airport, as in under the flight path!
3. near the beach, Hollywood beach is actually closer.

Dania is still an old suburb of Ft Lauderdale/Hollywood.

To Mr. Know it All:
1-Evidently there is pride of ownership in that neighborhood of Dania Beach, specifically on SE 3rd terrace. Just to get in the car and take a ride down the 3rd terrace to see the well preserved homes and manicured yards by their homeowners. Your comment is derogative to dozens of owner and residents who work hard to keep and maintain their properties in those blocks.
2- I gave information to the inquirer about the blocks he/she is interested in purchasing or renting. That section specifically IS NOT exactly under the airport flight path which is further north in Dania Beach. So the properties on SE 3rd Terrace and south are away from the planes' noise.
3- The inquirer is asking about Dania Beach, not Hollywood. Homes on SE 3rd terrace are close to the beach by car. Actually Dania Beach has residential and commercial properties right on the beach. Dania Beach is a beach town !

Dania IS NOT and old suburb of Ft Lauderdale/Hollywood. Dania is a municipality with its own personality and characteristics that makes the town very different from the rest. When you are in Dania, you feel you are in Dania Beach and not in any suburbia.
Actually, Dania Beach is the very first incorporated municipality in Broward county.

KABOOM !

I haven't been to Dania Beach in 10 years but I always though their beach was a nice change of pace from the rest of South Florida. It was less developed than the other beaches in the area and they have a nice pier. Jimbo's is a cool bar on the intracoastal and is steps from the beach. Grampa's and Jaxon's are other South Florida institutions located in Dania Beach. Throw in its central location between Miami and Fort Lauderdale and I never understood why it wasn't more popular.

There always seemed to a lot of homeless on US 1, but that's true of many parts of South Florida. Perhaps the airport bothers people but at the right price and proximity to the beach, I could get over the jets flying overhead.

I recently stayed on 12th St in Dania, one block east of US1. About a half mile or so from 3rd Terrace. I thought it to be a fairly safe area, and I did walk around to bars / restaurants at night without any trouble.

The area's old. Driving in from FtL or Hollywood, you'd know you were in a different place even w/o the "Welcome to Dania" signs. When I go there it feels like I'm transported to 1978. Some of it comes across as charming, other parts rundown.

The beach is quiet and relatively undeveloped, but also small. Hollywood's beach is much better, imo, and it's fairly close.n
