True Weston is way out west. Ritzy. It takes so long to drive east-west in Ft Lauderdale.

I have been to FLL a few times lately
If you are from out of town and seek walkability then I'd suggest trying to stay east of US 1 or slightly west.
Hotels located in the non touristic areas I find a bit cheaper than those water front properties on A1A, Las Olas Blvd, Seabreeze Blvd, etc

The Cambria up on north fort Lauderdale Beach is a 3* but excellent value, some of the common guests areas are comparable to a 4* hotel.

The Courtyard in Flagler sometimes offers discounted/penalty/prepaid rates

The Renaissance off US 1 down south Harbordale is pretty reasonable, fairly close to 17st St or you can hop on a northbound bus to FLL

Another time, I used the Tru by Hilton Dania airport on US 1, slightly north Dania B Blvd, very inexpensive and again, you can use the buses that run on US 1 to travel north
