I'm graduating in July with an AS in Histology and thinking of returning home to job search (haven't lived there since the 1980s). The good news is my field is very in demand, the bad news...so many options. I would prefer to work in one of the better hospitals and was hoping for some feedback from those familiar with working conditions in some. As a teenager I volunteered at Memorial in Hollywood and it's definitely I think on the shortlist. The facility is immense now and like the idea of contributing especially in pediatric cancer facilities like Joe Dimaggio Children's Hospital most appealing. Others I'm considering are U of Miami Jackson Children's and Broward General (main campus). Hollywood (downtown/east side) is probably my preference for places to live though open to other semi-walkable east side areas with a good grocery store, restaurants etc in close proximity.

My friend is a retired ICU nurse and commuted to Memorial Hospital, and later Jackson from her home in Hollywood, south of the circle and east of US1. Loved both places.

My god daughter works for Broward and really loves it. She isn't on the main campus though, she's at Imperial Point.
