It's fine ALONG Davie Rd, it's just that neighborhood that is off the road. To be honest, there is really no reason to go there and it's isolated so I suppose it doesn't matter.

I just did the streetview, and check out that little strip mall at 75th terrace. That looks straight out of NW Ft. Lauderdale or Deepside Lauderhill, and that area has been like that for YEARS. Yes, the rest of the "run down" neighborhoods in east Davie have more of that SW Ft. Lauderdale feel, with the pockets of illegal aliens mixed in with the leftover good ol boys and some working class blacks and that occasional really nice pocket, but not a "dangerous" hood kind of feel.
I took some classes at the FAU campus over there and I really have to say some of those streets are UGLY but bad neighborhoods??? Come on here. Cheap-yes. Ugly-yes. Dangerous? I don't think so.

I'm not talking about by the university either, those neighborhoods aren't spotless but no not dangerous. I am talking about a very specific few streets in the extreme SW side of the city limits, south of Sitrling Rd. Yes, otherwise Davie is fine.

I agree with others about looking at places WEST of University Drive. (Coral Springs, Tamarac, Sunrise, Plantation, Davie, Weston). I do not recommend looking anywhere in Lauderhill, North Lauderhill, Lauderdale, or North Lauderdale. They will be more affordable for sure. But you may not like the type of element that has grown in those areas.

Well, North Lauderdale is bland as hell, but unsafe? I wouldn't say so.

By the way Compelled, when I used to think of Davie neighborhoods like that and trailer parks would come to mind. I do understand that it actually has desirable sections now, but the addresses you posted kind of look like Lantana but with less of a Hispanic influence.

I just deleted a post saying the same thing. There are a few crappy condos around there but for the most part it's actually a clean and pretty proud working class area.

I agreed with you for what it's worth. My kid complained all the time living in North Lauderdale, and when I went there it was sketchy IMO. Maybe no high crime but I wouldn't live there. And that was the place the landlord let all the appliances be broken and got foreclosed on in month 9. He moved in very happy with the look of the neighborhood and the actual condo, till he was actually living there. It's always that way, you find out stuff when you're there....

NOW he's living in the downtown WPB allegedly so unsafe and crime ridden and couldn't be happier.

People really need to drive around and see places it's such a personal decision about what is "ok" ....(cars up on blocks, changing your oil out in the driveway, storing inside property OUTSIDE etc....)....

Most people don't get too enthusiastic over a move to a place described as "not that bad" (unless you're escaping a place called "really bad")
