I was born in Hollywood in 1964.
I am pretty sure that the Gold Coast Rink was the one just east of Federal at SR 84, next to "The Copa." The coolest dance club was Nepenthe, an Egyptian themed club on Federal Highway. We danced at Pete and Lenny's on the South side of Commercial ( or was it Oakland Park Blvd?)
The Haunted House attraction was at 1313 Andrews Avenue and was painted gray and deliberately dilapidated. It is now a sunny yellow and houses a law office. Not as fun. I will check with my Mom on the name of the skating rink, I also remember it .

I remember that. They use to serve food and it wasn't expensive but the movies were a little old. Think it was on Commercial.

Gold Coast roller rink was great, had a wooded floor. They had a big screen and would show the Thriller video.

Agree Nepenthe was the coolest dance club!

Yes, the roller rink was Gold Coast. And Pete & Lenny's was on Commercial. (Yesterday's was on Oakland Park Blvd@ the Intracoastal.)

Anyone remember the Playpen? Or better yet, Chateau Madrid?

I guess I'm showing my age. LOL.

Default Movie w/ beer

That was on 441 near Oalkand. It got skanky after a while, really smelly with palmetto bugs all over. Ft. Lauderdale of 1980s rocked!
